31st European Conference on Philosophy of Medicine and Health Care
16 – 19 august, 2017, Belgrade, Serbia
Call for Abstracts
The unexpectedly rapid development of various new technologies opens a variety of pressing ethical and philosophical questions. This conference will address these issues.
The conference will be organized by the European Society for Philosophy of Medicine and Healthcare (ESPMH) and the Center for the Study of Bioethics (CSB) from Belgrade.
The European Society for Philosophy of Medicine and Health Care was founded by an international company of philosophers, physicians, ethicists and other interested professionals in the field, in the face of the growing need for critical reflection on the role of medicine and health care in our present society.
The purpose of the Center for the Study of Bioethics is the stimulation of scientific debate on a variety of issues bioethics deals with. CSB envisions to be global in scope.
Abstracts in the following categories will be favoured, but submitted abstracts will not have to be confined to them. The focus is on New Technologies in Healthcare:
- Novel therapeutics
- Genomic Medicine
- Gene Editing
Please take note of the fact that all the topics should be approached through an ethical and/or philosophical lens.
The programme of the conference includes plenary sessions as well as parallel sessions. Anyone wishing to present a paper at the conference should submit an abstract (500 words maximum) before March 1, 2017. The Conference Programme Committee will select abstracts for oral presentation.
